Katie Stackhouse,

Euphonic Objects,

#1-18, 2023, White raku clay, porcelain slip, stoneware clay, granite, glaze, dimensions variable.

Percussionist and Composer Maria Moles performed Euphonic Objects in the Sound and Syncopation exhibition program.

“Katie Stackhouse’s Sound Vessels, whether suspended or silently at rest in the gallery, act like haptic memories of the moments of their sculptural origin; when struck with percussive intent or awoken by a voice, their sounds become an invocation, a song to the spirit of the structures and places and that are distant and yet impressed upon the surfaces and forms of her works.”

Gareth Syvret, Curator, Maroondah Federation Estate Gallery, June 23
